Dr. Rodney T. Smith

Dr. Rodney Smith is a highly respected, board-certified specialist in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. A native of Marion, Alabama, he earned his M.D. from the University of South Alabama and completed his advanced medical training at the UAB Montgomery Internal Medicine Residency Program and a nephrology fellowship at UAB. He proudly serves as the President of Renal Associates.

Since joining Renal Associates in 2001, Dr. Smith has been committed to both patient care and medical education, serving as a Clinical Assistant Professor with UAB to train future physicians.



 When he steps away from the clinic, he enjoys a quiet weekend at the lake with his family. A devoted fan of local news and sports, he proudly (and loudly) cheers for Alabama football.
