Dr. Robert B. Hoit, Jr.

Dr. Robert B. Hoit, Jr., is a highly experienced and board-certified specialist in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, and has been a dedicated member of Renal Associates since 1988.
Dr. Hoit brings a deep commitment to service, having spent nine years in the U.S. Air Force prior to joining the practice. While in the Air Force, he completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Keesler USAF Medical Center in Biloxi, MS and specialized Nephrology Fellowship at the Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Subsequent assignments included Internist at Maxwell Regional Hospital in Montgomery, AL followed by Chief of Nephrology at Wright Patterson USAF Medical Center in Dayton, OH. He earned his medical degree (M.D.) at the Medical College of Georgia after undergraduate studies at Valdosta State College.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Hoit is committed to the future of medicine, serving as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine with UAB to train Internal Medicine resident physicians since the year he joined the clinic.
