Dr. Melanie H. Halvorson

Dr. Melanie Halvorson is a highly respected board-certified specialist in nephrology serving the Montgomery area since joining Renal Associates of Montgomery in 1996. She is a native of Montgomery and earned her undergraduate degree from Auburn University before completing her medical education at UAB.

She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Virginia and a nephrology fellowship at the medical College of Georgia where she gained extensive experience in managing complex, renal disorders, hypertension, and electrolyte abnormalities.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Halvorson is active in the Alabama kidney foundation, supporting patient advocacy, community outreach and kidney health awareness across the state! She is passionate about improving access to care and empowering patients to take an active role in their kidney health.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Halvorson enjoys spending time with family, scuba diving, baking and gardening as well as participating in community programs and continuing her lifelong pursuit of learning and service
